‘Help, My Dog is Dominant’ – Advising Clients on Dominance Issues
Abstract
The purpose of this presentation is to clarify what dominance is and is not, in order to give accurate, science-based, evidential information on dominance issues presented by clients.
Learning Outcomes
- An understanding of the issues that surround the labelling of dogs as ‘domiant’.
- The ability to advise clients when they feel their dog is acting with dominance.
- An understanding of the importance of correct training methods with regard to welfare.
- And so the confidence to advise referral to a behaviouralist where it may be necessary.
